Donna Franca - Rooms & Suite
About us

Donna Franca Rooms & Suite
The heading "Donna Franca" for our B&B is a tribute to an iconic figure of Bell'Epoque Palermo: Franca Florio, considered the true uncrowned queen of the City, a woman of great depth, refined elegance and strong personality, wife of Ignazio Florio Jr, entrepreneur and shipowner, last, together with his brother Vincenzo, of the great Dynasty of the Lions of Sicily who left at the dawn of the nineteenth century, from Bagnara Calabra. And just like her we try to embody these values for our property by offering guests a sophisticated and authentic hospitality experience adding a special touch to the stay.
Something about us
Our facility is located in the Borgo Vecchio district, a former fishing village where today there's the main port of the city. The location is perfect for exploring the historic center on foot. We are, in fact, a stone's throw from all the attractions of the Sicily's Capital. From there you can easily reach the famous Ballarò market, a lively place, full of colours, and a cult place for street food and where you can savor the flavors of typical Palermo and Sicilian cuisine and breathe in the age-old smells of the place. In the area you will have the opportunity to visit the lyrical temple par excellence of the city, the Theatre Massimo, the third in Europe and the fifth in the world, started by the famous and illustrious architect Giovan Battista Basile and finished by his son Ernesto.
Palermo is a city rich in history and culture and in the surroundings of our B&B you will find many places of interest such as the charming La Kalsa neighborhood with its typical narrow streets and historic buildings or the imposing and magnificent Palermo Cathedral, an astonishing example of Arab-Norman architecture..
Don't forget to taste the typical local dishes in one of the many restaurants on the Via Maqueda\Corso Vittorio Emanuele axis, where after visiting the famous Piazza Vigliena, known to the people of Palermo as "I quattro Canti" and having enjoyed the ' Fontana Pretoria', you can enjoy delicacies such as arancine, cannoli, pasta with sardines and much more.
Upon returning to the facility, enjoy a well-deserved rest in your comfortable rooms. We do our best to ensure our guests have a pleasant and relaxing stay. Take advantage, for example, of Gattopardo's terrace which is furnished, panoramic and used as a hanging garden. We will be thrilled to welcome you and make your stay in Palermo unforgettable.
